In order to register an .eu domain, you or organization must fall
into one of these categories.
- A natural resident in the European Union
- Undertakings having their registered office, central administration
or principal place of business within the European Community
- Organizations established within the European Community without
prejudice to the application of national law
Sunrise Registration
On or about August , 2005 the sunrise period is intended for public
bodies, trademark holders, as well as holders of other rights recognized
in the national law of an EU member state, to secure registrations.
The first sunrise period will allow public bodies and trademark
holders to apply for their corresponding name and will last for
two months. The second two month sunrise period, will be for those
eligible to apply in phase 1 as well as holders of other rights
recognised in the national law of a member state.
You can get ready for the sunrise period by having copies of EU
trademarks available, and contact information according to the above
requirements for eligibility.
Live registrations for the general public will begin early 2006.
